Definition

The house of disease and enmity — opposition, obstacles, difficulties; the digestive system, which it rules (hence, like the Ascendant, important for physical constitution); injury, wounds, accidents; work, service, discipline (Karma Yoga); one's enemies, theft, litigation; relationship with foreigners. A dusthana (difficult house) and an upachaya (where malefics do well and strengthen with time).

⚑ With the 1st, the 6th is the chart's disease-and-vitality house: it rules the DIGESTIVE SYSTEM and is "important for showing our physical constitution" (book p.149). Its bhavat-bhavam partner is the 11th (6th-from-6th); its negation is the 5th.
