Definition

⚑ The CENTRAL marma of the Vāstu Puruṣa Maṇḍala — the Vāstu Puruṣa's navel, at the maṇḍala centre (within the Brahma Sthāna). 'In terms of prāṇa, the most significant of the Vāstu Puruṣa's limbs is the Brahma Nābhi, which appears at the center of the maṇḍala.' Like any navel it is the talismanic souvenir of zygotic singularity — the 'root' from which the umbilical 'stem' / axis mundi arose, joining the sky of the womb to the earth of the growing fetus. 'The Brahma Nābhi is thus the Vāstu Puruṣa Maṇḍala's chief marma.' [MODERN — Svoboda, on a TRADITIONAL Vāstu/marma base].

Prāṇa relevance

⚑ The single most prāṇa-dense point of the dwelling in Svoboda's scheme: the chief marma at the maṇḍala centre, the architectural homologue of the body's prāṇic navel, sitting inside the Brahma Sthāna (the prāṇa conduit). Direct dwelling↔body↔prāṇa node — the centre of the centre. Closes neatly onto the Brahma-Sthāna-as-prāṇa-conduit and Sun→prāṇa bridges of the Directions theme.

The Brahma Nābhi (divine navel) is the Vāstu Puruṣa's own navel at the maṇḍala centre — 'in terms of prāṇa, the most significant of the Vāstu Puruṣa's limbs'. It homologises the building-centre, the body-navel (the body's prāṇic centre, a nāḍī confluence), and the zygotic bindu/axis-mundi root. Building ↔ body ↔ cosmos navel-homology.

  • The Brahma Nābhi (chief marma / Vāstu Puruṣa navel) sits at the precise centre of the maṇḍala, which is the Brahma Sthāna; its exact middle is the bindu. The navel-marma is located within the keep-empty central zone.

System Of Origin
vastu (Vāstu Puruṣa body-scheme; Svoboda ties it to the Ayurvedic/yogic navel-as-prāṇa-centre)
Location In Body
centre of the maṇḍala (= centre of the Brahma Sthāna, = the bindu). In the human body the homologue is the navel: 'after we're born, the navel is the body's center of pranic activity, the central focus for a plethora of intersecting nāḍīs' (cf. the yogic maṇipūra/nābhi region).
Function
The maṇḍala's chief prāṇa-confluence — the highest-density nāḍī intersection, hence the most critical marma not to be 'afflicted' by building/loading. Prāṇa entered us through the umbilicus in utero; the navel remains the body's prāṇic centre — the site-navel is its architectural homologue.
