Aquarius (Kumbha)

कुम्भKumbha

also: Aquarius, Waterbearer, Pot

ras-kumbha

Definition

The eleventh sidereal sign, Kumbha (Aquarius), the positive/odd sign of Saturn; Fixed Air; the lower legs of the Cosmic Man; symbol the pot / water-bearer (an AIR sign despite the name).
Traditional

Prāṇa relevance

⚑ Air/Saturn/Fixed, and the ONE sign whose body-correspondence (Medical patch) names the 'power of EXHALATION' — the nearest the body-table comes to a respiration/prana function. Air = Vata, the movement humor. Despite the 'water-bearer' symbol it is an Air sign (the water is 'truth from intuitive perception', not the Water element) — a naming trap worth flagging. Subtle prana (breath) gestured at via exhalation but not developed.

Description Summary
Indicates the group and the need to understand what individuality really is; 'the most self-negative of all types.' On a higher level: faith, capacity to surrender ego to the Divine, humanitarian self-sacrifice; on a lower level: subservience to others' ego demands, self-denigration, guilt, taking the side of the oppressed/outcast; eccentric, scattered, lack charisma; fail as political leaders but succeed as religious leaders/teachers. 'The water they bring is that of truth from their intuitive perception.' [MODERN — Frawley, book p.124]
