- Statement
- A planet in close conjunction with the Sun is combust (burnt up), weakened, possibly rendered powerless, its rays overcome by solar light. Orbs: Mars/Jupiter/Saturn 8°30', Moon 15°, Venus 4°, Mercury 2°. Mitigated in a favourable sign/house; a planet in the Sun's sign (not combust) keeps full sambandha with it and may benefit. Moon/Mercury/Venus (and to a degree all) function better at greater distance from the Sun.
