- Statement
- Graft jack, Ashoka, plantain, Eugenia, lemon, pomegranate, grape, Parivata, citron and jasmine by smearing a branch with cowdung and setting it on another's branch, or by wedging a cut trunk onto another, sealing the junction with mud. Time it: Sisira for branchless plants, Hemanta for branched, the rains for large-branched; keep the cut direction uppermost. Trees can be carried abroad and grafted if smeared root-to-stem with ghee, andropogon, sesamum, honey, Vidanga, milk and cowdung. Before grafting, be pure and worship the tree with ablutions and sandal-paste; then it thrives even by its grafted leaves.
