- For king and commander: hall breadth = (house breadth + 70) ÷ 14; verandah = (breadth + 70) ÷ 35. For the varna houses (32 hasta down): halls 4h17a, 4h3a, 3h16a, 3h13a, 3h4a; verandahs 3h19a, 3h8a, 2h20a, 2h18a, 2h3a (h = hasta, a = angula), decreasing with house size.
