- The wise must not hurt the vulnerable points (pra-vastu-marma) with dirty materials, nails, pillars, pegs or heavy stones; a salya lodged there afflicts the owner's corresponding limb, with effects by material per the salya catalog (see pra-vastu-marma.salya_catalog).

- Diagnosis runs both ways: the owner's spontaneous scratching of a limb at the time of query, or omens during the construction oblation, reveal which limb of the House-God is afflicted (53.59).
