This is the cosmos→psyche mapping (planet → faculty of mind) on the psychological axis — the counterpart of the medical chapter's cosmos→body (planet → dosha) mapping. It stays at the level of mind/consciousness; the bridge from these mental faculties to the breath/prana-vayu system is NOT made in this chapter (parallels the gross-humor↔subtle-prana gap of the medical theme).

Each planet is read as a psychological/spiritual faculty of the inner being, with a 'main issue' to be resolved on the path of consciousness: Sun = the Self / identity (Atma vs ego — issue: identity); Moon = the mind generally (Manas) / feeling-receptivity (issue: peace & receptivity, surrender to the Divine); Mars = energy & motivation (issue: directing energy to real, enduring transformation); Mercury = the power of judgement (buddhi) (issue: right discrimination, truth from falsehood); Jupiter = the law of one's nature / creative intelligence & grace (issue: aligning with Divine grace); Venus = the capacity to project love & beauty (issue: defining happiness inwardly as joy vs outwardly as pleasure); Saturn = the power of action / its karmic consequence (issue: ongoing conscious action, putting truth into practice); Rahu = the illusion-power of unfulfilled desire (issue: mastering secret wishes, accepting the present as truth); Ketu = the illusion-power of fear & self-negation (issue: embracing ego-death as renewal).
