- Statement
- When two planets are in conjunction of one degree or less they are 'at war' — a clashing of rays. The planet of LOWER longitude wins; a benefic that loses to a malefic is greatly weakened, a benefic that wins becomes much stronger. The rules do not apply to the Sun (combust applies instead) or the Moon (conjunction usually benefic); Rahu/Ketu (retrograde) are exempt and act more strongly in the degree above a planet. A retrograde planet that technically loses takes less damage.
