- In a catuhshala: worship-room in the northeast (aiśānī); kitchen in the southeast (āgneyī); store-room in the southwest (nairṛtī); treasure-room and granary in the northwest (mārutī).
- Nomenclature Note
- All four direction-names are deity-derived (Isha, Agni, Nirriti, Marut) in the root text itself — the strongest internal evidence yet that BS presupposes the standard dikpala compass even though no roster verse has been located (Q3). Sanskrit read visually.
