- Mighty emperors may build 7½ storeys; Brahmanas 6½; Kshatriyas 5½; Vaishyas 4½; Shudras 3½ — Vishvakarman as quoted by Utpala. Heights of buildings use the medium cubit per the same authority; foundations of the best houses are 2½ hasta high; storey-height restriction applies only to houses of two, three, and four halls.
