- Height = 2× width; stepped plinth (kati) = 1/3 height; sanctum (garbha) = 1/2 width, walled; door width = 1/4 garbha, height = 2× its width; side-frame breadth = 1/4 door height (threshold and lintel likewise); frame thickness = 1/4 frame breadth; 3/5/7/9 frames commended; lower 1/4 of the doorpost bears two door-keepers, the rest auspicious carvings; idol+pedestal = door height − 1/8, in ratio 2:1.
