Nadir (Down)

अधःadhaḥ

also: down, nadir, below, adho

dir-adhas

Definition

The downward/nadir direction (adhaḥ) — the vertical 'below' of the ten-direction scheme. In Svoboda's roster the nadir is regented by Ananta/Śeṣa (the cosmic serpent supporting the earth), source of natural resources and worldly pleasures; connected with the earth and physical existence/appetites. South/west/SW are 'downward-trending' toward it.
Traditional

Prāṇa relevance

The downward axis = earth/physical appetite pole; the Ananta-binding at foundation-laying 'fixes' the site (a cosmological-ordering act). Not a direct prāṇa claim. Not yet traced.
