Body House ResonanceFilledper txt-svoboda-vastu
A three-layered body↔house relationship: the breathing body relates to the house's 'body' (physical contents/functions); personal prāṇa tallies with the residence's prāṇa flows; the dwelling's 'subtle sediments and vibrations' affect the mental partitions (habits/idiosyncrasies). 'Good Vāstu structures create a resonance between you and your space; as you breathe, so will your dwelling.' The 'one sizable discontinuity' to attend to is the border zone 'between our birth skins and the skins of our structures' — a well-designed residence bridges it.
Body Well RootedFilledper txt-svoboda-vastu
A well-rooted body has 'the head correctly aligned on the spine, which should itself be firmly set in the pelvis' — the bodily analogue of the well-rooted living space's stable unoccupied centre; healthy prāṇa is well-rooted 'in body and in living space'.
Home Is Body ExtensionFilledper txt-svoboda-vastu
'Your home being an extension of your body, Vāstu language fundamentally speaks to us at the level of our bodies, our senses, our prāṇa.' The body's prāṇa-centre (hara, below the navel) is the reading-organ for a building's rightness.
House As Supplementary SkinFilledper txt-svoboda-vastu
⚑ The dwelling is part of the body's 'supplementary skin'. Higher animals 'live in bodies defined by our external skins and the internal skins of our digestive tracts'; uniquely, humans 'can use our faculties of self-perception and craftmaking to generate additional skins for improved self-protection' — first clothes ('wearable skins'), then shelter ('secondary skin': houses, offices, vehicles, furniture). 'Our dwelling spaces form one portion of our supplementary skin.' Skins nest outward (lawn↔house, fence↔neighborhood, city↔state… 'to infinity, and beyond') and inward (lymph/blood, blood/flesh, flesh/fat, bone/marrow; the central nervous system as the skin that 'shelters your prāṇa'). 'Deep within the mind is the locus of pure awareness, which adorns itself in all these skins.'

  • Forward: hurt at a site point afflicts the owner's matching limb (53.58). Reverse: the owner's spontaneous limb-scratching at query time, or omens during the construction oblation, diagnose which limb of the House-God carries the affliction (53.59).
  • BS 54.2 states the homology directly and uses the same word, sira, for both: 'just as there are veins in the human body, so do they exist... in the earth.' The correspondence licenses reading the site as a living body whose water-channels parallel the resident's.
  • Svoboda models the dwelling as 'another skin' / a 'supplementary skin' — an outer layer of the same nested skin-system as the body's external skin, digestive-tract skin, and inner boundaries (lymph/blood, flesh/fat, bone/marrow, the nervous system). 'Your home being an extension of your body', the house's body-functions correspond to the resident's body, and 'as you breathe, so will your dwelling' — a homology/resonance between dwelling and gross body.

Notes from other books

  • txt-svoboda-vastuSvoboda's 'another skin' / supplementary-skin doctrine gives pra-sharira (the gross body, a bare BS stub: 'generic node for limbs, health and harm') its first dwelling-bridge: the house is modeled as an outer layer of the same nested skin-system as flesh, fat and the nervous system, with the body↔house boundary ('birth skin' ↔ 'structure skin') as the zone Vāstu works on. The strongest dwelling↔body homology in Book 3's thesis; the standalone concept entity is pra-supplementary-skin (below). Corroborates — from the skin/limb side — the BS House-God↔owner limb-homology (pra-vastu-purusha-anga, 53.58–59); flagged.
