Frawley's two planet→direction schemes (worship compass vs yantra/altar layout)

Prāṇa relevance

The planet→direction assignment is the hinge where Jyotisha (planets) meets Vastu (directions); whichever scheme, it places each graha's force on a compass bearing of the dwelling/altar. Prana link via direction↔element↔body, not drawn explicitly here.

  • Svoboda's 8-bearing graha-dik roster (Sun-E, Venus-SE, Mars-S, Rāhu&Ketu-SW, Saturn-W, Moon-NW, Mercury-N, Jupiter-NE) is IDENTICAL to Frawley's WORSHIP/compass scheme (rul-graha-direction-schemes-frawley, school_position 1) and to the BS Book-1 claimed-classical-but-unpinned roster — three independent witnesses on one mapping. The correspondence is at the worship/compass layer; Frawley's separate 9-fold ALTAR scheme (Sun-center, Venus-E, Ketu-NW…) DIVERGES from both and is the contrast case.

Statement
Frawley gives TWO distinct planet→direction assignments. (1) The WORSHIP /'Directions of the Planets' scheme (8 planets, 8 bearings): Sun-East, Venus-SE, Mars-South, Rahu-SW, Saturn-West, Moon-NW, Mercury-North, Jupiter-NE. (2) The YANTRA/ALTAR layout scheme (9 planets): Sun-CENTER, Venus-East, Moon-SE, Mars-South, Rahu-SW, Saturn-West, Ketu-NW, Mercury-NE, Jupiter-North. The two AGREE only at Mars-South, Rahu-SW and Saturn-West; they DIVERGE at the other bearings (the altar scheme moves the Sun to the center, frees East for Venus, and adds Ketu at NW).

Cross Book Note
⚑ Frawley's WORSHIP scheme exactly reproduces the graha-direction mapping BS Book-1 flagged as unpinned (dir-agneya.graha = Venus-SE etc.). This is a located modern INSTANCE of that mapping, not a root pin — by §7 a single modern source never promotes the BS claimed-classical note. The concord is surfaced as a question, not asserted as resolution. Separately, this rule's own internal worship-vs-altar divergence parallels the schema §8 dual-scheme principle (a text runs two coexisting direction schemes that diverge).
